I’ve always loved Simon and Garfunkel and their solo work. Ok probably Paul’s solo work more, but still. They’re real New Yorkers and there’s real New York references in their lyrics. As a kid these references went completely over my head. Which is why I love that shows like Sesame Street, The Muppets, and now Yo Gabba Gabba have actual, real, interesting artists on.
I found this video of Paul Simon on Sesame Street. You gotta love that little girl! She’s having so much fun and he looks like he’s having a lot of fun with her. Not to mention she’s actually talented. Keep in mind she’s probably around 6 and then look at the way she deals with that key change. The other kids dancing in front of the stoop are great, too.
